project goal
The world is very big. But the actual world each of us inhabit is based on where we live and where we travel.
I started this project because I am interested in how we identify ourselves and our world by where we've been.
My goal for this project is to gather many perspectives to see how differing geographic experiences translate to differing views of the world.
process
Participants in the project receive a postcard. Instructions printed on the card direct them to draw a map of the world on the reverse of every place they have been, varying size and detail depending upon each place's importance to them. They return these cards via the mail.

My own map is below. Segments of North America make up the center. Japan and Hong Kong are to the west; Europe is to the east.
